Potassium Permanganate
This is a high-risk product that has caused many fish deaths due to accidental overdose by not knowing the correct amount of gallons being treated and suffocation due to low dissolved oxygen levels.  We prefer that other medications be used that are a bit safer on the fish.  See our handy diagnosis page for suggestions on what to use.

Sorry -- this item is not being shipped at this time.

Salt Treatment
Use non-iodized, mineral-free salt only.  Dosage is 3 lbs. of salt per 100 gallons of water.  Remove plants.  Over a period of 3 days add salt to the pond.  Add 1/3 dosage the 1st day, 1/3 dosage the 2nd day and then the last 1/3 dosage the 3rd day.  Leave in for 2 to 3 weeks.  After 2 to 3 weeks change 50% of the water. Then follow up with another 50% water change the following week.  Return plants to pond.  Find more information on Salt Treatments in our article, "Flash Dance - A Closer Look at Parasites" Find Pond Doc's Pure Salt

The Doc's Prescription Pure Salt Treatment
Shipped in 10-lb. or 40-lb. packages.  Pond Doc's Salt is Pure -- meaning no YPD and no minerals -- and it's non-iodized, making it safe to use in ponds with fish.  There's no need to buy expensive pond salt any longer!  Use as directed to kill many fresh water fish parasites and to promote the growth of the fish's slime layer, naturally.  It's also safe to use while treating with most fluke medications.  Other benefits are the natural properties of salt prevents ulcers from taking on water and helps koi and goldfish fend off the affects of nitrite poisoning.

Dosage Info

Use 3 lbs. per 100 gallons of pond water.
